Acquisition intelligence for people who buy private companies, built to reach an owner inside the short window before a business is ever listed for sale.
A working intelligence engine already existed. A company did not. There was no settled answer to what this is, who it is for, or what a buyer thinks they are buying, and no interface in the world resolves that.
Make the value proposition immediately understandable to a buyer who has never heard of the company, in a market where nobody was asking for a new category.
Build a visual and verbal system distinctive enough to own that category, and disciplined enough to survive sitting inside a partner's interface.
Carry the same promise from the marketing surface into the platform, so what a customer was sold and what a customer receives are one thing.
Relationship intelligence and warm path tooling is an established, well funded category. Features alone do not win it.
A review of the incumbents found them uniformly blue. The category already had a color, a register and a vocabulary.
Buyers do not pay for more data. Value is delivered when an opportunity, an introduction or a meeting arrives.
Not two projects. One system with two registers, each with its own job, its own audience and its own evidence, meeting in a single customer experience.
The brand sets the expectation. The platform fulfills it.
Positioning, message architecture, identity and the market facing experience. The half of the work that decided what MLX was and made people want it.
Marketing register · warm off white, serif display, sparse gold Open case study → Access only · Part two · ProductPlatform strategy, information architecture, the core buyer experiences and the product system. The half of the work that had to deliver what the brand promised.
Product register · gold on near black, dense, data forward Request access →The two panels are not decorated to match their subjects. They are the two registers of the MLX system itself, used as navigation.
The product case study runs on demonstration data and is opened by invitation. If you already have an access code for the case studies, it works here.
No code? Request one from the work page. The public brand and marketing experience is live. The platform is in internal beta with paying users, with design partnerships across five brokerage and private equity firms and a qualified base of founders who have sold companies from $20M to $850M, alongside investor groups. Partner firms are unnamed by agreement. The roadmap moves to SaaS with SLA backed access, and the buyer side platform is roughly ninety percent built.
Outcome instrumentation is still being built, so both halves report design decisions and system properties rather than business results. No individual, firm, prospect, partner or data source is named anywhere.
One engagement, two connected systems, kept distinct until they meet in the customer's experience.
